Rayman Legends Retold launches October 1 on Switch 2

By GFA Staff · June 10, 2026

Rayman Legends Retold launches October 1 on Switch 2, and Ubisoft is finally doing more with Rayman than making fans ask where he went. This is not being pitched as a simple remaster.

Retold adds 3D visuals, new narrative twists, a mysterious sixth realm, a new villain, voiced cinematics, an expanded musical score and a revamped Kung Foot multiplayer mode with GameShare support. That is ambitious because Rayman Legends already aged beautifully.

Any reimagining must avoid breaking the rhythm, flow and musical-stage brilliance that made the original one of Ubisoft’s best platformers. Still, Rayman returning in a meaningful way is good news by itself. The limbless hero deserves more than nostalgia crumbs. October 1 will show whether Ubisoft remembered how joyful this series can be.
