Resident Evil Veronica will be third-person and drops the Code

Resident Evil Veronica continues to feed horror fans fresh details. Capcom has explained why the remake drops “Code” from the title and confirmed it will use a third-person perspective. That makes sense after the success of Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4’s modern remakes, but Veronica is still a tricky beast.

It is lore-heavy, weird, dramatic and very tied to Claire Redfield’s arc after Resident Evil 2. Dropping the old subtitle may make the remake cleaner for new players, while third-person action-horror gives Capcom a familiar mechanical foundation. The challenge is tone.

Veronica cannot just be made smoother. It needs to keep the strange intensity that made the original memorable. Horror fans are watching closely, probably from behind furniture.
