Riot adds second Berlin stage to avoid VCT and LEC clashes

Riot Games is expanding its Berlin arena setup with a second stage, and that may sound boring until you remember esports scheduling is basically Tetris with sponsors, teams and jet lag. The new Studio Stage will support VCT EMEA Stage 2 while the existing Arena Stage continues hosting LEC, allowing Valorant and League of Legends events to run concurrently instead of fighting over the same room.

That matters because VCT EMEA Stage 2 is expanding to 16 teams, including four squads from the Tier 2 Valorant Challenger League circuit. More teams means more matches, more broadcast pressure and more risk of scheduling nonsense.

Riot’s solution is practical: build more event capacity instead of forcing two major ecosystems to step on each other’s shoes. For fans, this should mean fewer awkward calendar conflicts and a smoother viewing rhythm.
