Screenbound launches September 10 with its strange dual-screen platforming

Screenbound has locked in a September 10 launch date, and it remains one of the more visually clever indie concepts in this week’s reveal pile. The idea of playing a 3D first-person world while also managing a 2D platforming view on an in-game device is exactly the kind of gimmick that can either become brilliant or give everyone a headache.

The difference will be level design. If Screenbound uses its dual-screen setup to create puzzles, timing challenges and perspective tricks that feel intuitive, it could become a standout.

If it simply asks players to stare at two things at once without rhythm, it could become a novelty. The September date gives the team a chance to prove the concept has legs, not just a good trailer.
