Sea of Stars is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, and Sabotage Studio has paired the launch with the game’s final content update, Sunset Edition. That is a nice way to bring one of the best retro-inspired RPGs of recent years onto Nintendo’s new hardware.
Sea of Stars always felt at home on Switch: colorful pixel art, timed-hit combat, exploration, music and a warm old-school adventure tone without feeling dusty. The Switch 2 version should make the experience sharper and smoother, while the Sunset Edition update gives returning players one final reason to revisit the world.
It also shows how Switch 2’s library is being built: not only new games and massive third-party ports, but upgraded versions of proven indie hits that deserve another run.
