Solitaire Crime Stories Chapter 1 mixes cards with investigation

Solitaire Crime Stories Chapter 1 launches today on Xbox, and it knows exactly what it is: a solitaire game wearing a detective hat. Players take on the roles of journalist Lana Whitt and sheriff’s assistant Bill Maite as they investigate crimes in Springdale while completing card challenges.

That may sound odd, but casual mystery hybrids can work surprisingly well. Solitaire gives the game a familiar mechanical backbone, while the investigation structure adds a reason to keep moving from one hand to the next.

The danger with these games is always repetition. The best version makes every case feel like a small reward between card rounds rather than decorative text pasted onto a deck. For players who like casual puzzles with a bit of story glue, this could be a tidy little June 9 pickup.
