Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition Switch 2 release date reportedly points to June 23

Sonic Frontiers: Definitive Edition may be heading to Switch 2 on June 23, according to fresh reporting around the still-unannounced release. That date would be very on-brand, because June 23 lines up with Sonic’s anniversary, and 2026 marks the hedgehog’s 35th birthday.
The rumored details point to a $49.99 US price and a physical edition, but SEGA has not officially confirmed the game yet, so this should stay firmly in rumor territory. Still, the pieces are starting to fit. Sonic Frontiers: Definitive Edition was previously spotted through ratings activity, and Switch 2 would be a sensible place to repackage the open-zone Sonic experiment with improved performance and all existing content.
Frontiers was divisive, but it also gave Sonic a new 3D direction that many fans wanted the series to keep refining. If this edition is real, the most important question is whether it is just a cleaner port or a genuinely improved version worth revisiting.
