Star Trek: Shadow Frontier revealed for Nintendo Switch 2

Star Trek: Shadow Frontier is in development for Nintendo Switch 2, and the pairing behind it is immediately intriguing: Paramount Games and Bloober Team. The game is described as a story-driven action adventure starring former Lieutenant Ro Laren, who sets out to rescue an old friend while going through a journey of survival and self-discovery.

That is a smart Star Trek angle because the best Trek stories are not only about ships, lasers and uniforms. They are about moral pressure, identity, loyalty and what people become when the Federation’s clean ideals meet messy reality.

Bloober Team adds an interesting layer because it is best known for horror and psychological tension. If Shadow Frontier uses that skillset without turning Star Trek into simple jump-scare material, this could become one of the more unusual licensed projects on Switch 2.
