Steam Deck OLED prices jump because of memory and storage costs

Steam Deck OLED just became a much more expensive little dream machine. Valve has raised prices for the 512GB and 1TB models, citing rising memory and storage costs, which is the kind of sentence that makes handheld PC fans stare sadly at their shopping carts.
The 512GB model is now reportedly $789, while the 1TB version jumps to $949. That is not a tiny adjustment.
” The timing is awkward because the Steam Deck OLED remains one of the best handheld PC experiences, but price is a huge part of why the device became so attractive in the first place. If RAM and storage shortages continue affecting hardware, this could also create nervous questions around future Valve hardware, including the long-discussed Steam Machine.
