European Switch 2 revision with replaceable battery is effectively confirmed

Nintendo’s European Switch 2 hardware revision is no longer just a rumor in the usual foggy sense. Nintendo of Europe’s website now indicates that future compliant models tied to European battery regulations will have unique model numbers and an OSM code.
In plain terms, Europe is getting Switch 2 hardware designed around easier battery replacement, aligning with upcoming EU rules. This is not the sort of hardware news that sells consoles through cinematic trailers, but it matters.
Repairability, battery access and right-to-repair pressure are becoming real forces in consumer electronics. For handheld gaming hardware, batteries are not side details. They are lifespans. A replaceable-battery Switch 2 model could be meaningful for long-term owners, repair shops and anyone who wants their device to survive beyond the first few years of heavy use. The interesting question is whether similar revisions eventually appear outside Europe.
