Nintendo Switch 2’s first-year library keeps filling quickly

By GFA Staff · June 5, 2026

Nintendo Switch 2’s software calendar keeps filling up quickly. Today alone brought or reinforced several useful signals: Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush is reportedly coming to Switch 2 in September, Madden NFL 27 is promising a 60 FPS performance mode, Pragmata has sold strongly enough that Capcom may consider it a series, and Shade Protocol has been confirmed for Switch after a strong Kickstarter launch.

That is the kind of mix Nintendo wants in year one: family-friendly racing, sports support, third-party action success and smaller indie projects. The platform still needs more first-party clarity for the back half of the year, but third-party momentum matters.

Switch 2 cannot live on Nintendo magic alone. It also needs a busy digital shelf, credible ports and games that make players feel the upgrade was worth it.
