Switch 2 software momentum builds before any rumored June Direct
Switch 2’s software momentum is building quickly even before any rumored mid-June Nintendo Direct. Today’s news alone includes eShop chart movement, Among Us Story confirmation, Vampire Survivors getting a native version, Star Trek: Shadow Frontier, BioEden, Teeto, Moss and more.
Add in the last few days of Summer Game Fest announcements and the picture becomes clearer: third-party publishers are not waiting for Nintendo to do all the heavy lifting. That is important because the first year of a console is not only about one or two flagship exclusives.
It is about whether players feel the library is alive every week. Switch 2 still needs stronger first-party clarity for the second half of 2026, but the platform’s third-party and indie pulse is already healthier than many expected.
