Take-Two plans six remakes, remasters or platform extensions for FY2028 and FY2029

Take-Two is obviously marching toward Grand Theft Auto VI, but the company has more old-new business planned beyond Rockstar’s incoming cultural meteor. During its latest earnings discussion, Take-Two said it has six remakes, remasters or platform extensions planned across fiscal years 2028 and 2029.
That wording is interesting because it leaves the door open for several possibilities: proper remakes, cleaned-up re-releases, current-gen upgrades, PC ports or next-generation platform versions. The obvious name people will jump to is Max Payne 1 and 2 Remake, already known to be in development at Remedy with Rockstar involved.
But the wider catalog also invites speculation around Red Dead, BioShock, Mafia, Borderlands and other franchises. The practical takeaway is that Take-Two is not just betting on brand-new sequels. It is also preparing to keep older IP alive through repackaging, upgrades and platform expansion. Done well, that can be smart. Done lazily, players will smell the cash-in from space.
