The Detectorist Guild has been announced for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch and PC, and it may be today’s most aggressively gentle pitch: a low-pressure cozy metal-detecting RPG. That sounds wonderfully specific.
Not every cozy game needs farming, fishing or a café. Sometimes the fantasy is walking through quiet places, searching for buried objects, learning their stories and joining a guild of people who probably own excellent waterproof boots.
” That positions the game clearly for players who want discovery, atmosphere and progression without being chased by wolves or debt. The challenge will be giving metal-detecting enough mechanical depth to stay interesting. If Full Stop Studios can make each find feel like a small story rather than another collectible tick box, The Detectorist Guild could become a nice niche comfort game.
