Ubisoft has announced a substantial new chapter for Tom Clancy's The Division 2, confirming that agents will return to New York City for a dedicated Central Park expansion. The reveal comes during Gamescom week and represents a significant long-term commitment to a live-service shooter that first launched in 2019, well outlasting conventional release cycles.
Central Park offers a distinct tactical landscape that blends wide-open autumnal foliage and overgrown civilian recreational zones with heavily barricaded military checkpoints, trenches, and quarantine enclosures. The return to Manhattan reconnects the franchise directly with the snowy, atmospheric setting that originally established The Division's identity while providing fresh outdoor encounter design for endgame squads.
While Ubisoft has not yet provided an exhaustive breakdown of mission counts, raid content, or an exact launch window, the publisher confirmed that substantial post-launch content is in active development.
