The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered Announced as Free Upgrade

CD Projekt Red delivered one of the biggest surprises of Gamescom by formally announcing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered. Scheduled to launch on September 29, 2026, the updated edition will be provided as a completely free digital upgrade to all existing owners of The Witcher 3 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The Remastered edition incorporates path-traced global illumination, high-resolution photogrammetry textures, revamped combat animations, and seamless background loading. In addition, CD Projekt Red confirmed that the award-winning Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions are now bundled into the baseline game package for all players.
