Square Enix explains why Tifa fits Street Fighter 6

Tifa joining Street Fighter 6 still feels almost too obvious once you say it out loud. She is a martial artist from Final Fantasy VII, has a huge global fanbase, and already punches monsters hard enough to make turn-based numbers feel personal.

After the Year 4 DLC reveal, Square Enix has been talking about why the crossover makes sense, and honestly, the argument is not difficult. Tifa is one of the few JRPG characters who can step into Street Fighter without needing a complete combat excuse.

The challenge is execution. Guest characters can feel like fan-service stickers if they do not have strong mechanics, but Tifa has all the raw material for a satisfying close-range kit: speed, combos, pressure and iconic attacks. If Capcom lands the feel, she could become one of the biggest DLC draws of Year 4.
