Toypunk revealed as roguelite looter shooter with puppet chaos

By GFA Staff · May 29, 2026

Toypunk has been revealed, and it may be the first roguelite looter shooter where getting stronger means sewing upgrades onto your puppet body. Eighth Lantern Studios showed the game during the Insider Gaming Showcase, presenting an early look at a toybox-styled shooter filled with knitted characters, stuffed monsters, rubber ducks and a general sense that someone weaponized the contents of a chaotic child’s bedroom. The mechanics sound familiar enough: fight hordes, collect power-ups, improve your build and keep pushing.

The visual identity is the hook. Rather than another grim sci-fi corridor full of angry robots, Toypunk leans into tactile, handmade silliness with guns attached.

The footage is early and the studio is open about that, but the concept is immediately memorable. Toypunk is currently confirmed for PC, with no release date yet.
