Valor Mortis launches September 24 with Napoleon voiced by Vincent Cassel

Valor Mortis now has a date: September 24, 2026. The new trailer confirmed Vincent Cassel as the voice of Napoleon Bonaparte, which immediately gives this first-person Soulslike a prestige little theatrical punch.

The game is set in a twisted version of the Napoleonic Wars, where a former soldier rises from death and gains supernatural powers. That is a strong setting because it avoids the genre’s usual fantasy sludge while still allowing monsters, horror and brutal melee combat. First-person Soulslikes are tricky.

They need weight, readable attacks and a fair sense of distance, or every death feels like the camera betrayed you. One More Level has speed and action credibility from Ghostrunner, so Valor Mortis could become more than a stylish historical nightmare. It may be one of September’s most distinctive Game Pass releases.
