Valve reportedly threatened to delist Rainbow Six Siege over pricing dispute

Valve’s grip on PC gaming is back under the microscope after a report claimed the company once threatened to delist Rainbow Six Siege from Steam during a pricing dispute with Ubisoft. The situation reportedly happened years ago, when Ubisoft was still using Uplay, after Ubisoft offered a better deal for Siege on its own platform.
According to the report, Valve allegedly demanded the price issue be fixed within 24 hours or the game would be removed from Steam. That is the kind of story that matters beyond one shooter.
Steam is the dominant PC storefront, and questions around platform power, pricing control and developer leverage are not going away. Rainbow Six Siege survived, obviously, but the reported dispute is a useful reminder that storefront economics can be just as brutal as any multiplayer match.
