Where Winds Meet shows Imperial Palace gameplay before May 28 release

By Michael Chen · May 23, 2026

Where Winds Meet is heading toward The Imperial Palace on May 28, and the latest gameplay showcase makes the new content look like more than a small side stop. The trailer gives players a taste of exploration, combat, quiet downtime and some very strange palace energy, including a martial-arts cat that may or may not be the most important teacher in the building.

The update is set around a large Kaifeng-sized chunk of content, which means new enemies, new spaces and possibly new weapon or reward hooks. That matters because Where Winds Meet needs to keep proving that its wuxia open-world structure has legs beyond launch curiosity.

The best version of this game is not just another checklist RPG with swords. It is a world where martial arts, folklore, wandering, duels and odd little discoveries make the map feel alive. If The Imperial Palace lands well, it could give players a strong reason to return before the summer showcase noise takes over.
