The Witcher 3 expansion Songs of the Past officially announced

The Witcher 3 is getting another expansion, because apparently Geralt looked at retirement and decided the bathwater could wait. CD Projekt Red has officially announced Songs of the Past, a new expansion for The Witcher 3 planned for 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

The reveal came earlier than planned after an accidental leak, with more information expected later this summer. Details remain deliberately light, but the hook is clear: players will once again take to the Path with Geralt of Rivia.

That is a huge nostalgia bomb, especially with The Witcher 4 expected to shift the main spotlight toward Ciri. If this really becomes Geralt’s last major playable adventure for a while, CD Projekt Red needs to make it count. Blood and Wine set a brutal standard. Songs of the Past now has to sing without sounding like an encore nobody asked for.
