Xbox and TCL Prepare to Bring Cloud Gaming to More Smart TVs

Microsoft has announced a strategic hardware partnership with consumer electronics manufacturer TCL that will bring the native Xbox television app to selected TCL smart televisions in the coming months. The integration will empower television owners to stream hundreds of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate titles and owned digital games directly via Xbox Cloud Gaming without requiring a physical console plugged into the wall.

Users will simply need a compatible TCL smart television running supported firmware, an active Game Pass Ultimate membership, a stable broadband internet connection, and a Bluetooth or USB gaming controller. The partnership aligns seamlessly with Microsoft's overarching "Xbox Everywhere" strategy, which positions televisions, handhelds, mobile devices, and PCs as equivalent endpoints for its gaming services alongside Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Specific compatible TCL television model families, supported display resolutions, and regional rollout timelines are expected to vary based on local cloud infrastructure. Consumers are advised to await official compatibility lists before making purchasing decisions. Explore the expanding cloud gaming landscape on /news and track hardware rollouts on /release-radar.
