Xenoblade Genesis starts a new beginning for the series in 2027

Xenoblade Genesis is the next major entry in Monolith Soft’s RPG series, and Nintendo is calling it a new beginning. That is a useful phrase because Xenoblade has built a reputation on huge worlds, strange metaphysics, massive blades, emotional party drama and stories that start with local conflict before becoming cosmic philosophy with boss music.

Genesis is coming to Switch 2 in 2027, with more details promised later. Early descriptions point toward a new setting where Anima is central to life and the elements, giving Monolith Soft room to move beyond the current trilogy structure while still staying inside the Xenoblade identity.

The announcement is important for Switch 2 because it confirms that one of Nintendo’s biggest modern RPG pillars is already being built for the new hardware. The real question is how large the world becomes this time before the map starts looking like homework.
