Yoshi and the Mysterious Book hides a Super Mario Galaxy-style moon surprise

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book has a little galactic surprise hiding near the end. Nintendo Life has highlighted that the Switch 2 platformer’s final world takes place on the moon, complete with gravity play that gives off clear Super Mario Galaxy energy.

For Nintendo fans, this is exactly the kind of small discovery that can keep a softer platformer in the conversation after launch. Yoshi games usually trade in charm, gentle exploration and creature-based gimmicks rather than brutal difficulty, so a moon world with gravity tricks is a fun way to give the adventure a bigger final-act flavor.

It also lands during a period when players are loudly wondering when Nintendo will properly return to 3D Mario. This is not Super Mario Galaxy 3, obviously. It is not even trying to be. But it does show Nintendo borrowing a bit of that galactic playfulness for Yoshi’s gentler world. For Switch 2 owners, it is another reason to poke around beyond the obvious path.
