Review Methodology

A GameForceAsia review combines written criticism with structured sub-scores so readers can see both the reasoning and the numerical verdict.

Last updated: 18 September 2026

What we evaluate

  • Graphics and visual presentation: readability, art direction, animation, interface and technical presentation.
  • Sound: music, effects, voice work and how audio supports the experience.
  • Gameplay: controls, systems, balance, pacing, challenge and mechanical depth.
  • Fun factor, when used: engagement, replay appeal and the reviewer’s overall enjoyment.

How the score is presented

The GFA Meter uses a 0–100 scale. Where a review has multiple scored categories, the displayed aggregate is derived from the available sub-scores. The written review remains the primary explanation of the verdict.

Scores are not intended as scientific measurements and should be read together with the reviewer’s text, genre context and platform information.

Updates and live products

Games can change after launch. Major patches, platform differences or substantial new content may justify an update, addendum or new assessment. A changed score should be accompanied by a clear editorial reason.

Commercial separation

The existence of a store link, affiliate link, advertisement, publisher relationship or review key does not purchase a particular score. Sponsored editorial, where accepted, should be clearly identified and kept distinct from independent reviews.
