DokeV and PLAN 8 are still alive at Pearl Abyss
Pearl Abyss has finally given players a small update on two long-quiet projects: DokeV and PLAN 8. Both games were originally announced alongside Crimson Desert in 2019, then largely disappeared from the spotlight while Pearl Abyss focused on getting Crimson Desert out the door. In its latest financial results, the company says both are still in development, but resources are currently being prioritized on DokeV. The collectible MMO-style adventure is still in pre-production, while exosuit MMO shooter PLAN 8 is in the conceptualization stage. That means neither game is close, but it also means they have not been quietly cancelled. Pearl Abyss says it wants to maintain a new-title release cycle of every two to three years, which suggests DokeV could be the next major project after Crimson Desert’s post-launch period. For players, patience will be required. DokeV once looked like one of the most colorful and unusual Korean projects in development. Now it has to prove it can re-emerge with a real game behind the old promise.
