Hell Is Us Is Heading to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 8

Nacon and Rogue Factor have confirmed that Hell Is Us will arrive digitally on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 8. The third-person action-adventure drops players into a country torn apart by civil war and an unexplained supernatural catastrophe, where mysterious chimeras are immune to conventional modern weapons. Players instead rely on melee weapons and a high-tech drone while navigating an unusually hands-off exploration system. There is no traditional map, compass or procession of fluorescent quest markers politely explaining that the enormous burning tower directly ahead might be worth investigating. Rogue Factor wants players to observe landmarks, interpret clues and work things out for themselves — a concept that may terrify anyone whose gaming muscle memory involves following a yellow line for twenty hours. Creative director Jonathan Jacques-Belletête has described the game's central theme as the recurring cycle of human violence and the emotions that sustain it, giving the otherwise mysterious monster-hunting setup a distinctly philosophical backbone. The Switch 2 edition brings the game to Nintendo's current hardware only a short time after its other versions. Assuming the technical conversion holds up, portable Hell Is Us sounds like an intriguing fit for players who miss games occasionally trusting them to get lost.
