Global entertainment developer HoYoverse has announced that its upcoming cosmic life simulation Petit Planet will release on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. The announcement was unveiled during a special pre-launch showcase detailing the game's imminent debut on PC, iOS and Android on December 4, 2026.

In Petit Planet, players assume the role of Planet Tenders tasked with terraforming miniature celestial spheres, cultivating diverse botanical gardens and building thriving settlements populated by charming extraterrestrial neighbors. Central to progression is planting the Luca Seed, which matures into a towering Luca Arbor that dictates planetary climate and attracts specialized wildlife.

Beyond individual homesteads, players can pilot cosmic vessels into the wider Starsea to visit shared communal outposts, trade rare flora and complete collaborative terraforming projects. The Switch 2 edition is poised to capitalize on Nintendo's strong history with cozy life-simulation audiences, offering enhanced portability and tactile controls.

The title represents an intriguing creative divergence for HoYoverse, shifting away from action-heavy RPG formulas like Genshin Impact toward a tranquil, community-driven sandbox where cosmic gardening and social exploration take center stage.
