Tokyo Game Show 2026 releases teaser video and confirms first influencer wave
Tokyo Game Show 2026 has started building momentum with a new teaser video, a giveaway campaign and the first wave of official influencers. The event runs from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, making it the first five-day Tokyo Game Show in the event’s history. That alone is significant. TGS has traditionally split business and public days across a shorter schedule, but the 30th anniversary edition is expanding the public footprint and leaning harder into global promotion. The first TGS BOOSTERZ wave includes Ella Freya, Kayane, Junpei Zaki & Taizo Zaki and Shao Dow, with 30 influencers planned overall. For players, this is early event news rather than a game announcement, but it matters because the 2026 showcase season is starting to take shape. Tokyo Game Show could become especially important for Japanese publishers with 2027 projects to tease, from RPGs and fighting games to anime adaptations and console exclusives. Exhibitor applications are still closing, so the real lineup will come later.
