IO Interactive says 007: First Light on Switch 2 needs more time

007: First Light is still coming to Nintendo Switch 2, but IO Interactive is not rushing it. CEO Hakan Abrak says the game is already running on Switch 2 hardware, but the studio needs more time to make the version as good as it can be. That matters because Switch 2 ports are under extra scrutiny, especially after other third-party projects have faced delays or paused development on the platform. Abrak specifically does not want players to say the Switch 2 version is not a good version, which is the right attitude for a major licensed release. Bond has a long history on Nintendo systems, and a compromised port would damage that legacy. The main versions of 007: First Light are due first, while the Switch 2 version is now expected later. For players, the practical takeaway is simple: the port is alive, but patience may be needed if IO wants parity, performance and polish.
