CCP Games rebrands as Fenris Creations after split from Pearl Abyss

CCP Games has entered a new chapter. The EVE Online developer has rebranded as Fenris Creations following its split from former parent company Pearl Abyss. Alongside the rebrand, the studio has announced a research partnership with Google DeepMind focused on intelligence in complex, dynamic systems. That is a fascinating fit because EVE Online has long been one of gaming’s most complex living economies and social sandboxes, with player alliances, market manipulation, politics and emergent conflict all shaping the universe. For players, the immediate question is what the change means for EVE and future projects. A new name can signal independence, strategic repositioning or a broader ambition beyond a single MMO identity. The Google DeepMind partnership also suggests the studio wants to use its experience with large-scale player-driven systems in a more research-oriented direction. The EVE community will be watching closely, because any major organizational change around CCP’s legacy naturally raises questions about the long-term future of New Eden.
