Arcade Archives Mr. Do! launches this week on modern platforms
Mr. Do! is returning through the Arcade Archives line this week. Arcade Archives 2 Mr. Do! is set for PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2, while PS4 and Nintendo Switch receive the standard Arcade Archives version. Originally released by Universal in 1982, Mr. Do! is a classic arcade action game where a clown clears stages by collecting cherries and defeating monsters. It may look simple now, but games like this are where so much arcade design language was refined: immediate rules, escalating pressure, readable enemies and high-score tension. The new release includes the rare “OLDEST” version alongside modern conveniences, online rankings and the additional features found in Arcade Archives 2, including rewind, save slots and VRR support on compatible hardware. For retro fans, this is more than a nostalgia drop. It is another small act of arcade preservation. Mr. Do! may not have the brand power of Pac-Man or Donkey Kong, but it belongs to the same era of pure arcade readability.
