Saros estimated to have sold over 300,000 copies in two weeks

Saros may be off to a respectable but not explosive commercial start. Analytics firm Alinea estimates that Housemarque’s PS5 sci-fi action game has sold more than 300,000 copies in its first two weeks, generating more than $22 million in revenue. That sounds healthy, but the context is more complicated. Alinea estimates Saros may have cost around $76 million to make, meaning the game could still have a way to go before breaking even. It also appears to be selling more slowly than Returnal did across a similar early window. The brighter side is engagement. Alinea’s estimates suggest a large share of players are spending serious time with the game, with many passing 15 or 20 hours and a strong completion rate for a demanding action title. That matters because Housemarque games often build long-tail reputation through skill, challenge and replayability rather than mass-market simplicity. Saros is not a flop story, but it may become a test of how much room PlayStation has for expensive, difficult, prestige-focused action games.
