ATMOSFAR enters Early Access on May 20 with skybound co-op exploration

ATMOSFAR now has a clearer Early Access plan, with the game set to launch on Steam on May 20. Developed by Apog Labs and published with Shueisha Games, the project is built around skybound exploration, survival and vehicle-based travel. Players can explore solo or in co-op with up to four players, using Wasp vehicles and a larger Cloud Cruiser to travel between floating regions. The Early Access version is expected to include two regions, multiple biomes, three Wasps and the Cloud Cruiser, with more content planned through a roadmap. For players, the appeal is the combination of open-air exploration and cooperative survival without the usual forest, desert or underwater setting. The danger for games like this is that beautiful traversal can feel empty if the world lacks meaningful systems. The opportunity is that ATMOSFAR’s flying vehicles could make exploration feel genuinely different from other survival sandboxes. Early Access means players should expect an unfinished game, but it also gives the community a chance to shape how the sky world grows.
