Tekken 8 adds Kunimitsu later this month

Tekken 8 is bringing Kunimitsu back into the fight. Bandai Namco has confirmed that the masked ninja will launch on May 27 for Season 3 Character Pass owners, before becoming available to all players on June 1. For fighting-game fans, this is a strong roster addition because Kunimitsu traditionally brings speed, trickery and stylish pressure rather than straightforward brawling. Tekken 8 already leans into aggression through its Heat system, so the big question is how Kunimitsu’s mobility and mix-up tools will fit into the current meta. Her return should also please long-time players who enjoy legacy characters with a distinctive identity. DLC characters are always important in fighting games because they refresh matchups, force players to relearn certain situations and often bring back lapsed fans. Kunimitsu’s reveal also landed during a busy EVO Japan news cycle, which gives the announcement extra visibility with the competitive community. If Bandai Namco balances her carefully, she could quickly become one of the most watched characters of the season.
