Halo Studios is reportedly developing Halo 2 and Halo 3 remakes

Halo may be heading into a much bigger remake era than expected. According to new reporting from VGC, Halo Studios is actively developing remakes of Halo 2 and Halo 3, while also working on other projects including a new multiplayer title and the next mainline Halo game. This is still a report rather than an official announcement, so players should treat it carefully, but the claim fits with Microsoft’s renewed focus on rebuilding Halo’s foundations. Halo: Campaign Evolved is already announced for Xbox, PS5 and PC in 2026, and if Halo 2 and Halo 3 follow, Microsoft could be setting up a full modern trilogy revival. For gamers, the appeal is obvious: the original Halo trilogy remains central to Xbox history, but remakes would also need to satisfy players who expect modern controls, visual polish, accessibility options and possibly updated mission flow. The risk is equally clear. Halo fans are protective, and remaking Halo 2 and 3 means touching some of the most beloved campaign and multiplayer memories in console history.
