Dragon Quest XI S Definitive Edition rated for Switch 2 in Taiwan

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition appears to be moving toward Switch 2, after the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee rated a Switch 2 version. As reported by Gematsu, this is not yet the same thing as a formal Square Enix announcement, but ratings board listings often appear shortly before official reveals.
The game first launched on Nintendo Switch in 2019 before coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2020, and the Definitive Edition remains one of the easiest versions to recommend because it includes extra character scenarios, orchestral music options, Japanese voice acting and the ability to switch between 2D and 3D visual styles.
For Switch 2 owners, a new version would make plenty of sense. Dragon Quest XI S is already well suited to hybrid play, but stronger hardware could improve image quality, performance or loading depending on what Square Enix chooses to do. A rating means something is likely moving behind the scenes.
