Marvel Rivals launches Path to Doomsday: The Avengers crossover mode

Marvel Rivals has launched its April 30 update, and the headline addition is Path to Doomsday: The Avengers. According to the official patch notes, the event begins at 09:00 UTC on April 30 and runs until May 28. The crossover mode is built around an Avengers-versus-Loki setup, letting players choose a side in a themed showdown inspired by Marvel Studios’ The Avengers.

NetEase is also using Times Square as an event space, with an in-game Battle of New York highlights screening and photo opportunities that reward players with cosmetics or currency. The store update brings Avengers-themed bundles for Iron Man and Loki, plus cosmetics for Elsa Bloodstone, Adam Warlock and others.

For players, the most interesting part is that Marvel Rivals continues to expand beyond standard hero-shooter matchmaking. It is using events, cinematic references, themed modes and social spaces to keep people logging in. If Path to Doomsday feels substantial rather than just cosmetic, Marvel Rivals could keep strengthening its identity as a playable Marvel event machine.
