SAROS launches today on PS5, bringing Housemarque’s next sci-fi challenge to players

Housemarque’s SAROS launches on PlayStation 5 today, and for fans of Returnal, Resogun and Nex Machina, that immediately makes it one of the most important action releases of the month. Sony describes the game as a fast-paced cinematic action title with intense moment-to-moment combat, boss fights and a mysterious story, which sounds very much like Housemarque building on the studio’s strengths rather than trying to reinvent itself completely.
The game is single-player only and exclusive to PS5, with no PS4 version planned. That should allow the studio to lean into fast loading, haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, 3D audio and PS5 Pro support rather than designing around older hardware.
Actor Rahul Kohli plays protagonist Arjun Devraj, giving the game a recognisable lead for players who follow genre TV and games. For gamers, the key question is whether SAROS can capture the same punishing rhythm and hypnotic learning curve that made Returnal a cult favourite while still feeling fresh. Either way, April 30 is now Housemarque day for PS5 owners.
