Fairgame$ is reportedly struggling after a recent pre-alpha test failed to impress players. According to reports, the tested Cargo Heist mode was received poorly, with criticism aimed at movement, classes, NPCs, and the overall feel of the experience. Because this is still pre-alpha and based on reported feedback, it should not be treated as a final judgment. But for gamers, the warning signs matter.

Sony has spent years trying to build a stronger live-service portfolio, and Fairgame$ was supposed to be part of that push. The problem is that extraction shooters and team-based heist games now live in a brutal market. Players already have plenty of multiplayer time-sinks, and “good enough later” rarely survives first contact with bored testers. If a live-service game does not feel fun in its core loop early, no amount of skins, seasons, or cinematic trailers can save it.
