Fortnite’s Exotic Cube Rifle Power Hour Turns Weapon Testing Into Appointment Gaming

Fortnite’s April 25 Power Hour gives players an early hands-on look at the Hop Rock Cube Rifle during two limited sessions. Players start with the weapon, get a Self-Revive, and earn double Rivalry Credits from all sources. For gamers, this is more than a silly one-hour chaos button. Epic is turning weapon experimentation into an event. Instead of silently adding a gun and letting Reddit scream afterward, Fortnite gives the community a timed playground to learn, break, abuse, celebrate, and complain about it all at once.

That is smart live-service design because it creates urgency without needing a full new map or giant crossover. It also gives players a reason to log in at a specific time, which is valuable in a game where attention is constantly being fought over by everything else. The downside is that limited windows can punish players in awkward time zones, especially when one European session lands late and another lands very late.
