Farm to Table opens Early Access early after Subnautica 2 release-date pressure
Farm to Table is opening its doors earlier than planned. Solo developer indieGiant moved the farming and restaurant management sim’s Early Access launch from May 11 to May 9, partly to give players more room before larger nearby releases crowd the calendar. The game combines backyard farming, cooking, restaurant management and base-building elements. Players grow crops, gather ingredients, fish, raise animals, use machines to process produce, discover recipes, hire staff and grow an organic business into a five-star restaurant. It is a smart genre mix because farming sims already create a satisfying resource loop, while restaurant management gives those resources a clear purpose. The risk is complexity. If the farming, cooking, staffing and building systems all pull in different directions, the game could become stressful in the wrong way. But if the loops connect cleanly, Farm to Table could appeal to players who want something more business-minded than a cozy farm and more relaxed than a hardcore tycoon. With Subnautica 2 looming on May 14, moving earlier may prove wise.
