Nintendo highlights major third-party Switch 2 releases for 2026
Nintendo is pushing back against price-hike anxiety by highlighting the strength of Switch 2’s upcoming third-party lineup. The company has pointed to a broad 2026 slate that includes Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok, Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Edition, Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, 007 First Light and more. Nintendo says the current Switch 2 third-party lineup is the largest it has ever had following a platform launch. That is an important claim because third-party depth has always been one of Nintendo’s biggest hardware questions. The original Switch eventually became a strong home for ports and indies, but it often received compromised versions or late arrivals. Switch 2 has a chance to change that perception if major games arrive closer to other platforms and run well. For players, this matters directly. A higher hardware price is easier to tolerate if the platform has a stronger library. Nintendo’s message is simple: yes, the console is getting more expensive, but the games are coming.
