Garfield: Escape from Monday announced for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch and PC

Garfield is getting a new 3D platformer, and the premise is exactly as ridiculous as it should be. Garfield: Escape from Monday has been announced for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC, with a September 24 release date. The story begins after Jon feeds Garfield strange spinach lasagnas, trapping the lazy orange cat inside a nightmare world full of vegetables and Monday energy. From there, Garfield travels through colorful dream worlds, collects lasagnas, fights enemies and uses different suits, including turkey, surfer and cowboy outfits. The game also includes elements tied to Garfield’s house, suggesting a light hub or refurbishment loop around the platforming. For younger players, this is a recognizable cartoon adventure. For older fans, the appeal is probably nostalgia and the simple joke that Garfield’s greatest enemies are vegetables, Mondays and effort. Licensed platformers can be uneven, but Garfield is a good fit for a goofy, low-stress 3D adventure if the movement and humor land properly.
