Genshin Impact Version Luna VII launches May 20 with Sumeru crisis and three new characters
Genshin Impact Version Luna VII, titled Song of the Welkin Moon: Andante – Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana, launches on May 20. The update sends players back to Sumeru for a new Archon Quest as Nahida falls into a mysterious slumber and the nation of wisdom faces a growing crisis. miHoYo is also adding three new playable characters: Nicole, the first playable member of the Hexenzirkel; Lohen, a 5-star Cryo Polearm wielder; and Prune, a 4-star Anemo Catalyst user styled as a Witch Hunter. Nicole’s kit focuses on teamwide support, shields and coordinated attacks, while Lohen brings a more aggressive Cryo resource-management style. The update also includes limited-time events, new Miliastra Wonderland content, story recap support through Guiding Notes and improved quest autosave prompts. For players, Luna VII looks like a major lore update rather than a light seasonal patch. Sumeru, the Hexenzirkel and the possible return of Dottore-like threats are exactly the kinds of story threads that keep Genshin’s long-term audience invested.
