Notmads enters Early Access with a living fortress on a giant beast
Notmads enters Steam Early Access today with one of the stranger survival premises of the week: build your home on the back of a giant living beast. Developed by Rhomita, the game lets players explore a floating-island world, gather resources, fight in action RPG combat and expand a moving fortress that literally carries them forward. It supports solo play and co-op for up to five players, which should make the living-base concept more social. The Early Access version starts with the first island, initial biome content and core systems, while the developer expects the full development period to last around two years. The concept is strong because it gives the base itself personality. Instead of returning to a static camp after every expedition, players travel with a creature-home that can grow, move and become part of the adventure. The risk is scope. Survival games in Early Access often promise huge worlds and long timelines. Notmads will need steady updates and a satisfying first loop to keep players invested beyond the novelty.
