Rayman Legends Retold Shows Off Its New Realm, Extra Music Stages and Expanded Story

Ubisoft has released a substantial new overview of Rayman Legends Retold, making it increasingly clear that the December 3 release is more ambitious than a simple resolution-and-frame-rate massage. The remake includes an entirely new sixth realm, additional musical stages, expanded story material, voiced cinematics and new gameplay sequences including dragon riding. Four-player local cooperative play also returns, because Rayman remains one of the few series capable of turning friendship into accusations about who slapped whom into a pit. The presentation has been rebuilt in modern 3D while retaining the side-scrolling structure and exuberant art direction of the 2013 original. Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan are developing the project for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. Buyers also receive Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition, itself upgraded with 4K presentation, 60fps support, quality-of-life improvements and additional collectibles. Ubisoft therefore appears to be treating the package less like archival maintenance and more like an attempt to remind everyone why people have spent years asking where Rayman went. With a new realm and genuinely additional content, Retold has a reasonable chance of becoming the rare remake where existing fans actually have something unfamiliar to discover.
