Windrose sails past 1.5 million copies and receives a new update

Windrose continues to look like one of 2026’s breakout survival hits. Developer Kraken Express has announced that the pirate-themed survival crafting game has sold more than 1.5 million copies, reaching the milestone only ten days after passing one million. That kind of pace is impressive for an Early Access title.
The studio celebrated with a new trailer and a fresh update focused on network connectivity, CPU usage, disk usage and additional content. The update also adds new wall triangle pieces, more roof angle options, seedbed variations and visual effects. For players, the sales number matters because survival games thrive on active communities.
Kraken Express says Windrose is expected to stay in Early Access for around one and a half to two and a half years, with roughly 50 percent more content planned for version 1.0. That is a long voyage, but the early momentum suggests players are willing to stay aboard.
