Fans find a rough way to watch YouTube on Switch 2, but it is stuck at 360p

Nintendo Switch 2 still does not have an official YouTube app, but players have found a workaround. According to Nintendo Life, users on Reddit discovered a way to access YouTube through a hidden web browser route connected to the free-to-play game Super Animal Royale. The result technically works, but it is not a good replacement for a proper app. The site is awkward to load, sign-in does not work, and video playback appears capped at 360p. For players, this is more of a curiosity than a recommendation. It does show there is demand for media functionality on Switch 2, especially from people who used YouTube regularly on the original Switch. It also highlights how odd it is that a major modern console can go so long without an official YouTube option. Nintendo has never positioned Switch primarily as a media box, but players clearly still want simple entertainment apps. Until Google or Nintendo releases a proper app, this workaround is more novelty than solution.
